Mechanical computer with stable and high-density memory

Different from digital computer, mechanical computers use mechanical components for computation and information storage. Challenges exist for mechanical computing include stable memory and high-density information storage. Recently, we reported a new class of cube-based mechanical metastructure computing platform to address both challenges. It allows ease in editing, erasing, and disk formatting information, stable information storage exempt from external mechanical and electromagnetic field perturbations, and high-density memory and information encryption and voxelated display, as well as logic computing.
