(number 27) Modern agricultural methods of cotton harvesting in Turkestan (Soviet Union, USSR) and experiment to test strength of stand of thread (location of events unknown, probably Eastern Europe judging by writing on car window). C/U of cotton growing on bush. C/U of handheld pipe that sucks cotton off plant. M/S of harvesting machine in middle of field. Women hold long pipes attached to machine to suck up cotton (like a vacuum cleaner). C/U of women using pipes, tilt up to show pipes leading to machine. M/S of man opening vat in machine, another man pushes down pile of cotton inside vat to make room for more. C/U of pile of freshly picked cotton.
