Remo Four - “ Skate “@1966

Liverpudlian group the Remo Four shook off backing lame Mersybeat singer Tommy Quickly in 1965 and took on their own harder edged hammond sound. Big in Germany they met little or no success here , but have left some amazingly collectable singles and great tracks such as the Kinkish “ Live like a lady“ ,“Peter Gunn“ and this track from their continental 1966 lp “Smile“ a great Mod workout of Dean Parrishs “ Skate“. The lp features the best non soul version of Stevie Wonders “ Nothings too good for my baby“. Awesome. Worth seeking out the reissued CD of Smile for the 8 bonus tracks but long deleted and hens teeth rarity.
