J. Peter Robinson - The Wizard *1989* [FULL SOUNDTRACK]

[Synth/Score/Modern Classical/Electronic/Orchestration/OST] Dust off the power glove because here is my personal custom made OST soundtrack score for the NES film “The Wizard“ by J. Peter Robinson. Let me begin by saying that these scores are SUPER RARE/UNRELEASED and potentially lost as well. I know i have said this many times but this was one of the hardest videos that i have ever made. Getting rid of all the sound effects on these scores was a nightmare as the movie is filled to the brim with them. I am really happy with the results though as i worked really hard perfecting them. I know a lot of fans will appreciate this video as well because lets face it ... a soundtrack/score release will NEVER happen, especially when the film really isn’t “top notch“ for a lack of a better word, haha. I’m also pretty certain that composer J. Peter Robinson doesn’t have these scores either because when you listen to them in the film, they don’t sound like they came from a master tape. The scores sound like they were strictly/solely composed for just elevating the emotions to the scenes (which is not uncommon in movie production ...but unfortunate). As a result, i can almost bet money that this video will potentially be the CLOSEST thing you will get to a score release for the film. The film follows three children as they travel to California for a video gaming competition at Universal Studios Hollywood. The youngest of the three is emotionally withdrawn with a gift for playing video games. The Wizard is famous for its extensive product placement of video games for the Nintendo Entertainment System. The film was also well known for being North America’s introduction to what would become one of the best-selling video games of all time, Super Mario Bros. 3. The film stars Fred Savage, Christian Slater, Jenny Lewis, Beau Bridges, and Luke Edwards. It was also Spiderman star Tobey Maguire’s film debut as he was an extra at the video gaming tournament. The movie debuted at No. 5, earning $2,142,525 in the domestic box office. At the end of its run, the film had grossed $14,278,900. Based on an estimated $6 million budget, the film was a moderate box office success. However, the film received generally negative reviews from critics. It was widely considered to be little more than a 96-minute commercial for Nintendo games and Universal Studios Hollywood. Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun-Times called the film “a cynical exploitation film with a lot of commercial plugs“ and “insanely overwritten and ineptly filmed“. He later called it one of the worst films of 1989. Despite the negative reception, the film was still popular enough to achieve cult film status with many people critiquing it as a historical piece in video games. With all of this said, many fans of the movie have searched for years to find the scores for this film and have come up with no luck ...until now ;) lol. This complete OST soundtrack score is unreleased and has no distribution label ’89. **I can assure you that this video is (and probably always will be) the closest thing you will get to an official soundtrack score release** ....Btw, it is nearly impossible to get rid of all the SFX’s for track 7 “The Final Game (Super Mario Bros. 3)“ because it is such a busy scene, so i did the next best thing by upping the scores audio levels/eliminating as many sound effects as i could.
