The ball comes across into the Madrid goal area and Alonso punches away from the head of a United forward and runs out and collects safely. He picks himself up and starts to clear up field. SV. Men in crowd. GV. Madrid on the move. Ball is pushed inside, pass from a Madrid player through to Di Stefano who turns and cracks a beauty which Wood tips over the bar. CU. Man in crowd holds head. LV. Francisco Gento running in, trips and falls in a tackle with a United player, and he was almost through. SV. Part of crowd not too happy about that. LV. Madrid goal area, ball comes across, Lesmes heads away but United player heads it back into the goal area where another United player gets his head to it but a Madrid player makes a lovely overhead kick to clear the lines and it goes away towards Manchester goal. LV. As a Madrid player pushes the ball through to Kopa. Kopa runs onto it and hooks it past Wood. Ball in net. Real 1 - United 0. SCU. Women dressed in Spanish type costumes in crowd hugging each other. LV. Madrid goal area. Ball is shoved across into it, Bill Whelan hooks it towards goal but Marquitos kicks it behind for a corner when a had it covered. LV. Corner being taken out on right wing. Ball comes into Madrid goal area where Alonso leaps and pushes it over the bar. SV. Crowd applauding. LV. Madrid goal area again, a lovely header from a United forward and a lovely dive and save by Alonso. CU. Men in crowd cheering. LV. General play just outside Madrid goal area and it is followed by general scuffle but cleared away towards the United goal. LV. Towards, Gento running through fast with the ball, smashes into goal mouth. Wood has missed it and Rial is there to tap it into an empty goal - happy players up field. Real 2 - United 0. GV. Massed crowd. GV. Madrid goal area. United on the move and a long one out to David Pegg. He is challenged by Torres. CU. Man in crowd looking anxious. SV. Pegg has shaken off his back and centres. Goalkeeper on the floor, and the ball hits the post coming off Taylor and runs along the line though - this is a goal by Taylor, but Whelan makes sure by slamming it into the net. Score, Real 2 - United 1. SV. Frantic supporters. GV. Madrid goal. Taylor running in with the ball cracks a beauty, Alonso saves brilliantly. CU. Spanish man in crowd. GV. Just outside the Madrid goal area, Munoz pushes it to Kopa. SV. Kopa beats Blanchflower and pushes it across the goal area, but it is intercepted by a United man who pushes it back to Wood. Wood picks it up and is challenged by a Madrid man whom he barges and knocks him flat on his back. CU. Man in crowd. LV. Pegg cutting in with the ball, it is intercepted by Torres and they clash. Torres goes down in supposed pain. SCU. Spanish and English men in crowd. LV. Crowd of players around Torres as he lays on ground. Byrne starts to drag him off while Madrid players try to pull him back, and there is a general scuffle as Duncan Edwards and Rial have words. Final score - Real Madrid 2, Manchester United 2.
