A $1500 Upgrade Future Gaming PCs Might Need

Every Dr. Who fan wants to be a Time Lord. But to be a Time Lord, you need to control time. How you can you control time when even your PC clock drifts away from reality while you sleep? Even the best PCs drift by milliseconds per day, and servers all need microsecond accuracy to keep things in order and in synchronous harmony. Data centers work best when they can ping GPS, which uses atomic clocks, to enable nanosecond accuracy - but sometimes you can’t access GPS, so what do you do? Facebook and OCP have come up with a Time Card that puts an Atomic Clock on a PCIe card, and it fits straight into any PCIe slot on any system, and with a simple driver, can ping GPS and maintain accuracy even when GPS isn’t available. What does this mean? Well imagine being so in sync with your gaming server it knows exactly when you pulled the trigger. That’s the future for this technology.
