The Most ALIEN, DEEP SEA LOOKIN... Freshwater Fish

Apteronotus Albifrons, or more commonly known as the Black Ghost Knife Fish, is a deep-sea creature that somehow found itself lost in the freshwater rivers of South America. Sike ...🤣. Even though this fish looks like an alien coming from the deep, it’s actually a true freshwater fish that is common in the aquarium trade. The Black Ghost Knife is practically blind, having tiny pinpoint eyes, a drawbridge mouth and a knife shaped body. These fish are primarily nocturnal, and they rely on electrical signals to navigate, find food and avoid danger. Even though these fish look hideous, they can’t be quite friendly, and they actually make great pets. My Ghost Knife is about 6 years old and lives in my 880 gallon aquarium with other South American fish.
