Wombat joey Yhi with guardian dog Stella at Sleepy Burrows Wombat Sanctuary

At the sanctuary we have a Maremma called Stella who is specifically bred to guard our animals and keep them safe from illegal hunters and the likes. So from a very young age the wombats learn that Stella is not a threat. This has no negative effects to our final goal of releasing wombats with the survival instincts and bush skills they require to survive in the bush. Stella watches over them, big or small.
