Traditional Japanese Obon Dance

Here are three traditional “Obon” dances from Miyazu, a town in northern Kyoto prefecture. I had the chance to learn how to do this dance and I joined the dance at the Obon festival. If you visit Kyoto in August, I recommend popping up from Kyoto to visit this beautiful seaside town and check out their festivals! Miyazu also has an incredible fireworks festival and very welcoming people. Anyway, please enjoy these talented ladies performing in beautiful kimono. For anyone interested in trying the second dance, here is the background music for it. I can’t find the music for the first or third dance at the moment, but when I do I’ll update the description!
