Assange is free: “WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has been released from prison in the UK. He left Belmarsh maximum security prison on the morning of June 24, having spent 1,901 days there. The High Court in London released Assange on bail, and he has already flown out of the UK. Lengthy negotiations with the US Department of Justice led to the conclusion of a deal. According to media reports, Assange will plead guilty to conspiracy to illegally obtain and disseminate national defense information, and prosecutors will seek a 62-month prison sentence, equal to the term Assange has already served in London.
