U.S. Army charges Pvt. Travis King, who fled to North Korea, with desertion

미군, ’월북’ 트래비스 킹 탈영 등 혐의로 기소 The U.S. Army has charged Private Travis King with desertion, among other crimes, following his fleeing to North Korea, in July, where he was held for two months. According to Reuters and the Associated Press, King was charged with a total of eight counts. Besides desertion, he is accused of assaulting fellow soldiers last year, unlawfully possessing alcohol, making a false statement, and possessing sexual images of a child. King fled to North Korea while on a civilian tour of the Joint Security Area.
