“Slayer’s Descent“ was a late 80s misguided attempt to update the story of Orpheus for the MTV generation. Derided at the time by critics as “meatheaded shlock“, the film went on to sell only 400 tickets on a 200 million dollar budget. Possibly the most famous case of a film being destroyed for tax purposes, the film was never released outside of its one weekend theatrical run.
