’00 Civic lower balljoint separation (just a jack and a ratchet)

No fancy tools required, just a jack, 1/2“ ratchet (or similarly shaped things) and a little yelling. Works on Honda/Acuras of the 1996-2000 generation, and probably many other cars. Remove the lower balljoint nut, put a jack on the ball joint stud, jack it up until you have room to stick the handle of a 1/2“ ratchet in the widening gap, then drop the jack. If it still doesn’t separate, step on the hub.
