It was the first day we were brought a newborn kitten that Mom refused to give up immediately after birth because our mom cat Joanna had recently given birth and was breastfeeding her two kittens. Their first meeting didn’t go perfectly. Whether the kitten smelled unfamiliar or didn’t yet know how to suckle milk and was making the cat uncomfortable, Joanna ran away and didn’t show any attention at first.
