New version: The line “Die Sturmbewährt sich nimmer, vor einem Feind geneigt“ actually means: “The battle-scarred flag has never bowed to an enemy“. We corrected that in the new version! The song is from the poem “die Baltenfahne“ from Karl Freiherr Manteuffel-Katzdangen. He was related to Hans von Manteuffel who fell 1919 at Riga and should tell the story of him and the Baltikumer, German soldiers fighting shortly after ww1 in the Baltic states.. The poem was created in 1920, just one year after Hans has fallen, but published the first time in the 30s without a melody. The singer is Jürgen V.
