School Puppets (1940-1949)

British Instructional Films presents a Classroom Film. School classroom. Children in aprons make pulp from shredded paper and water. C/U of girl stirring mixture in large metal bucket. C/U of pulp being stirred. Girl drops some more paper into bucket. Mixture is emptied from jam jars. Paste and size bind the pulp. Boy mixes and presses the mixture together. Girl adds size with a spoon. Balls of the mixture are moulded into head shapes on the top of sticks then put inside a bottle to dry out. C/U of girl putting details on to her puppet head. The heads are baked in a small oven. The heads are painted and hair is stuck on. Boy in an apron paints his puppet head. C/U of eyebrows being painted on. C/U of another puppet head as girl sticks on hair. Scenery and clothes are made for the puppets. Children bang nails into scenery and sew cloth. A girl plays with her finished puppet.
