Stage 2 - Buryat folk song - Learning and sharing “Altargana“

Whilst in the first stage we focused on learning and sharing the Bangla folk song and starting our musical gatherings with song sharing after long restriction periods (which have made group gatherings challenging or impossible), in the second stage Bujee taught Durgesh and Gregor the Buryat folk song “Altargana” which they in turn taught in smaller, more intimate, one to one settings. The song “Altargana” talks about the altargana plant, an evergreen bush carrying yellow blossoms, growing in the Northern Mongolian, Siberian areas as a metaphor for the lifelong lasting and nourishing bond of the children to their parents. We chose that song, to put that particular relationship in focus which builds the foundation for all coming relationships in everyone’s life. Having the overall project in mind, when we will bind all those three songs together, this song with an intimate arrangement sets another tone between those two other songs which are more group gatherings, also the way they are performed.
