1985 SAR Kenworth WB Hunter

1985 Australian-Built Kenworth SAR, powered by a 400 Cummins, 13-speed RR, riding on Torsion bar suspension. I don’t remember the diff ratio but I can tell you it was one quick truck. Out of all my working career in transport, this was one of my favorite trucks to drive. I mainly did local work in Melbourne and country Victoria with a trip to South Australia and on occasion, Sydney NSW. I did mostly general freight which meant I was often swapping trailers. Here I am arriving at a premises in Laverton’s industrial area, then we head to Hunter’s Melbourne depot on the corner of Holmwood and Somerville Road, West Footscray. We then head to Salta Drive and pick up a load of packaged beer from CUB Altona, we throw a tarp over our load and then proceed to drive out and pull up in Salta Drive to complete the tarp job (not shown).
