Alcoa workers clash with Madrid riot police over US plant closures in Spain

Alcoa workers clashed with riot police during a protest in front of the Congress of Deputies building in Madrid on Thursday. The protest came after US aluminum producer Alcoa announced it was closing two plants in the northeast of Spain. Around 1,000 workers took part in the demonstration.
