Lifta (Arabic لفتا) is an abandoned Arab village near the western edge of Jerusalem. The place was inhabited since time immemorial and is mentioned in the Bible. Located north of the road leading from Jerusalem to Jaffa and Tel Aviv, on the slopes descending to the Sorek valley at an altitude of 700 m above sea level.
