Love themes are really hard to get right, because you run the risk of being too sappy or too generic sounding. In the case of Will and Elizabeth, they have one of the best love themes ever written to film. Not only does it sound beautiful and sirene, but also has this weight and gravitas that gives it this grand and epic feel. It also has a jolly sounding action melody thrown in for good measure, to fit that pirate flare.
