Jaco Pastorius - Complete 1st solo bass set at Berliner Jazztage in 1979

Here’s the complete first set of Jaco’s legendary solo concert that took place at the Berliner Jazztage in Berlin, on November the 2nd in 1979. In the Milkowski book on Jaco, Chick Corea describes this concert in the following way: “In 1979 there was a concert in Berlin where the promoter puttogether a bunch of solo acts - John McLaughlin played a guitar solo, Gary Burton played a vibes solo, I played a piano solo, Albert Mangelsdorff played a trombone solo and Jaco played a set of solo bass improvisations. The way he started his set was very dramatic. He came walking down through the audience while playing, using a wireless setup on his bass, which created an incredible effect. I remember he was in a really good place, really focused and healthy, full of creative expression, and playing marvelously“.
