Tying the Snow Runner Roach (Pike Fly)

As the name suggests I use nayat (snow runner) in this articulated roach pattern. I wanted to demonstrate how I like to tie with nayat, which hopefully will provide you with some ideas of how to get the best out of this cool natural material. I’ve also added some synthentics in the form of a dubbing loop, which adds width to keep the desired shape in the water. Lastly if you haven’t tried the new white Flashabou from Hedron then you need ’s awesome!
