Visiting Juvenile Australian Magpies

With all the negativity surrounding the magpies lately, I thought I’d make this post. A few days ago, I was visiting another magpie on my rounds and heard two little school girls approaching. I overheard them nervously discussing that they were too scared to cross the road because of all the magpies in the area. They reached the corner and walked past the big bush I was behind with Tailor, my magpie buddy perching on my hand. They got the shock of their lives when they saw us, their jaws literally dropped! 🤣 The girls approached us, and they watched me with Tailor for a while, excitably asking me all questions about him. “Is he going to swoop me? Is he going to bite?“ Their fear of magpies instantly vanished when they met us, I can tell you that! Out of curiosity, I asked the girls if they had ever been swooped and they both said NO!
