Ben has situated the conflict within the context of Western imperialism and the legacy of ethnic cleansing. He has also shared numerous details about how the Western mainstream media has manufactured consent to justify the genocide. We have asked him about his thoughts on Ukraine-Russia and how the Western elites view Russia differently from China. He has argued that conservatives in the West are divided about Russia, they are united on their hate against China, and this is pushing the whole world into a dangerous potential conflict. Ben also argued that the Global South is largely on the side of China. We asked him about his experience as a journalist in Latin America and the different segments of the Left in the region. We asked him if the charge about the suppression of free speech by the Left in places like Nicaragua and Venezuela has any basis, and he said there is none.
