This Historic Mine Has It All - Unique Artifacts, Spectacular Mineral Vein, Tram And Great Views. ⛏️

This 1920’s silver mine has it all. Artifacts, beautiful mineral vein, tram buckets, interesting workings and a great hike to get there. After hiking up a canyon/wash we exit the canyon on a road that goes to the mine. Near the mine are the remnants of an old camping trailer which must have been home to one of the miners. The trailer looked home made and had wood spoked wheels. We found a couple of interesting items at the trailer. At the mine we found a beautifully timbered portal with a wood door that was in great condition. The mine workings consist of drifts, crosscuts and raises. We worked our way to the top of the mine through the stopes. The mineral vein is spectacular and one of the most interesting we have seen. The ore shipments averaged 15.5% lead and 10 ounces of silver /ton. There was also zinc, copper and gold taken in smaller amounts. Further down the mountain is a lower tram terminal where we found three tram buckets and a loading station where trucks would have been loaded with ore
