Kirchner en Nolde: Expressionisme. Kolonialisme (minidoc)

Het Stedelijk Museum heeft ervoor gekozen in deze tentoonstelling het werk van Ernst Ludwig Kirchner en Emil Nolde in een nieuw perspectief te plaatsen. In deze mini documentaire, die ook op in de tentoonstelling te zien zal zijn, vertellen conservator Beatrice von Bormann, Wayne Modest en Wonu Veys (Nationaal Museum van Wereldculturen) waarom dit belangrijk is; hoe onlosmakelijk de beeldtaal van het expressionisme is verbonden met het kolonialisme en hoe dit tot op de dag van vandaag doorwerkt in de legitimering van kolonialisme en institutioneel racisme.
