Holland Hails Princess Beatrix (1938)

No titles. Holland / Netherlands. Various shots show the people of Holland celebrating the arrival of the new royal baby, Princess Beatrix, daughter of Queen Juliana and Prince Bernhard. People wander about in front of the royal palace, flags are flown from ships and windmills, people join in street parties, a beacon in a city flares, people wave and cheer, bells ring, ships sound their hooters, buildings are decorated, large guns are fired in a park. People in mediaeval costume ride on horses in a town and blow fanfares on trumpets. The Dutch National Anthem (?) is heard, then an official man makes a speech in a city street, probably officially announcing the birth of Princess Beatrix. M/S of a piece of paper showing a declaration in Dutch. The official man leads the crowd in three cheers. People put the finishing touches to a large sign reading ’Welklom’.
