Human Trafficking of Children : City Atty Hydee Feldstein Soto & LAPD Deputy Chief Emada Tingirides

In order to fight the sexual exploitation of children the City of Los Angeles has launched a Human Trafficking Task Force in conjunction with multiple law enforcement agencies and non profit organizations. In 2023 they rescued 60 minors and 11 adults from forced sex work. This podcast tells that story. Hydee Feldstein Soto is the 43rd Los Angeles City Attorney. She is the city’s general counsel and serves as legal advisor to the Mayor, city council and hundreds of boards, departments and entities. Deputy Chief Emada Tingirides is a native Angeleno who spent most of her youth in Watts and Southwest Los Angeles, she holds a Masters of Advanced Study in Criminology Law and Society from USC. She has served as Watch Commander for 77th Street area, Southeast Area Patrol Commanding Officer and in August of 2020 she was promoted to Deputy Chief and Commanding Officer of the Community Safety Partnership Bureau.
