Delphi, formerly called Pytho, is the ancient sanctuary that grew rich as the seat of Pythia, the oracle who was consulted about important decisions throughout the ancient classical world. The ancient Greeks considered the centre of the world to be in Delphi, marked by the stone monument known as the omphalos (navel). It has numerous temples spread out over a vast area including some polygonal walls and evidence of high technology. The great Athena and Apollo energy lines go through the site and it positioned geodetically between Delos and Dodona, two other important oracle sites.
