1 2& 4 - Drum kit fill / pattern tutorial drumming lesson for Rock, Funk & Samba

Another fave drum practice idea that really helps me playing grooves. It’s a fill - or a pattern - based around the 1 2& 4 beats of an 8th note rhythm. Played simply with a single stroke roll - right left - sticking. There are accented notes on the 1 2& 4 - this is also known as the Mambo or Baiao beat and is also happens to be the first bar of a 3:2 clave pattern. The 1 starts on the mid tom. The 2& on the high tom. The 4 on the floor tom. All the other notes are played softly on the snare.
