Harry Gold & His Pieces Of Eight - Long John Stomp.
Harry Gold’s band seemed to fly under the radar somewhat during the Dixieland/Trad boom of the late 1940s and 1950s even though he had a great band as you will hear. Recorded in 1950 with Freddy Tomasso trumpet, Ted Darrah trombone, Ernie Tomasso clarinet, Laurie Gold tenor sax, Harry Gold bass sax, Jimmy McKnight piano, Johnny Wiltshire guitar, Gerry Hawkins bass, Sam Herman drums. I love Harry’s bass sax solo.
