Interior decorators and restorers Elizabeth Stevens and Christine Cooke demonstrate their skills restoring the Victorian and Art Deco decorative paintwork at Vila Alba in Kew and in private homes in Hawthorn and Toorak, Melbourne, all built in the 1880s. The film shows many beautiful, traditional decorative techniques, including stencilling, marbling, wood graining, simulated tortoiseshell and porphyry, and gold gilding.
