Tyler Warren - Rush’s Permanent Waves (full album performance)

SURPRISE!! This project came about from downtime between Queen Adam Lambert’s 2017 summer US and fall EU/UK tours. When I got home from that summer tour, I was surrounded by studio sessions of a new project (more to come with that, and I can’t wait to share what we’ve done when it’s finished), and unexpected life changes in general. One day, bogged down with said life changes, and a few hitches in the mixing process of said new project, I found myself jamming some Rush on drums, and just decided to do an end-all, be-all of my one man band silliness: a note-for-note reproduction of Rush’s “Permanent Waves” album, from scratch. Usually, when people record covers, they do their own rearrangement, or do something to make it their own. Even though you can certainly tell it’s me (and not Rush), I figured, “why would I even try to improve on perfection?” Thus, I’ve tried to make it as faithful to the original as possible; my own way of paying tribute to one of the greatest albums of all time. Many thanks to all my friends, family, and to Jessie, without whom I never would’ve done this. Hope you all enjoy this as much as I did recording it :-) All music written by Geddy Lee & Alex Lifeson All lyrics written by Neil Peart, except “Different Strings“ by Geddy Lee.
