Recorded this song (for Gems In The Rough 2023 contest) on our lunch break from the Iron Creek Ecological Restoration Crew in Irish Hills, Michigan. On the porch of the old Maple Mansion as the maple sap was flowing and the winds were about to blow in another late winter storm. The Moon and the Fire - two things most of us have experienced a lot in our lives, so we thought it might be relatable. First released on theillalogicalspoon’s Experiment #3 Remember Your Creator In The Days Of Your Youth in 2008. An album inspired by the book of Ecclesiastes, traveling the world, and then coming back home to root down in the Great Lakes Bioregion. Got to thinking about this old tune the night before as we finished a big brush burn just when the moon started to rise.
