Detroit’s DJ icon Carl Craig is creative visionary, groundbreaking electronic artist, esteemed Grammy-nominated composer, entrepreneur, civic leader… Craig is the “renaissance man” of electronic music. Yet the common thread that runs through Craig’s broad musical canon and creative projects is a resounding fascination with futurism. He released his first track in 1989, but craving broader artistic freedom, founded his own label Planet-E two years later. Craig released a diverse range of music under a number of monikers, including Innerzone Orchestra, under which he gave the world the gift of his single “Bug in the Bassbin” and for that is credited as the spark that inspired the evolution of drum‘n’bass.
