Damascus Your Excellency Bashar Al-Assad President of the Syrian Arab Republic I send warm congratulations to you and your friendly people on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the independence of Syria. I am rejoiced over the fact that your government and people are making a progress in the struggle to resolutely frustrate the moves of the United States and its followers against Syria, achieve the territorial integrity and eradicate the aftereffects of damages by earthquake under your correct leadership. Availing myself of this opportunity, I express the firm belief that the relations of friendship and cooperation between our two countries standing in the same trench of the common struggle against imperialism will be further strengthened and developed and wish the Syrian people greater success in their just cause.
