Truckers partially lifted the Canada – US border blockade at Alberta border crossing, Wednesday night.
Footage filmed on Thursday showed trucks and cars parked alongside the road after protesters moved their vehicles to the side of the highway to make room for traffic. Some vehicles were flying Canadian flags and signs reading ’Fight for Freedom’.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police negotiated the partial re-opening and remained in the area to observe the further developments.
The motorists in South Alberta began their protest on Saturday in support of a convoy of trucks that arrived in Ottawa last week to protest COVID-19 measures requiring truckers to show proof of vaccination to enter Canada or quarantine for 14 days.
According to local news, a second blockade was set up after the re-opening 18 kilometres away near Milk River, choking off traffic.
