Zooming into Gaia16aye

This animation shows a zoomed-in view into the star 2MASS19400112 3007533, located in the Cygnus constellation. Following the detection of a sudden brightening of this star by ESA’s Gaia satellite in August 2016, the source is also referred as Gaia16aye.
