Fly Tying: A micro articulated streamer the Itsy Bitsy!

All sportfish across the globe begin their lives small and vulnerable and that’s what I had in mind as I tied the Itsy Bitsy baitfish. Just think about it, all of our favorite fly fishing targets trout, bass, stripers, bluefish, walleye, crappie, carp... all start small. But just being small doesn’t scream EAT ME but add in the micro shank for the tail, the pronounced lateral line, realistic contrasting colors and those big ole voila you have a fly that screams EAT ME! In the video, I’ll walk you though step-by-step how to tie the fly including material prep and how to properly articulate. I plan on fishing this for trout and smallmouth in three ways... first on a floating line, long leader, two flies in tandem (see my other video two flies are better than one). Almost dead drifting, only giving the slightest movements, through prime lies where I know big fish are feeding on nymphs and invertebrates. Second on a sink tip, in deeper water as my top dropper with a weight
