Israel is minting new “Trump coins“ with an image of US President Donald Trump. The coin, created by the “Mikdash“, also known as the Temple Educational Center, is a gesture of “gratitude and thanks“ in return for Trump’s December recognition of Jerusalem as the country’s capital. The announcement stirred protests worldwide and prompted Palestinian leaders to write the US off as a peace broker between Palestinians and Israelis. Palestinians view Jerusalem as the capital of their future state. Rabbi Mordechai Persoff of the Educational Center says 1000 coins are being minted.
