La Palma volcano: Drone video shows new land formed by lava that reached sea

Newly-released drone footage shows the scale of the “lava delta“ from the Cumbre Vieja volcano eruption forming on La Palma island on Wednesday. The new headland began forming since the volcano’s lava reached the sea. The La Palma council said that the volcano was stabilizing and that fewer earthquakes had been reported compared to previous days, but that the airport shut down due to increased volcanic ash build-up.
