Near Yucca Mountain, Sequoia National Park, California, researchers discovered a new millipede species. Illacme tobini has 414 legs, 4 gonopods (four legs modified into penises), 200 poison glands and silk-secreting hairs. The new species is a relative of Illacme plenipes, the “leggiest animal on the planet“ with 750 legs.
