Ep 024: BIONICLE: PT III - THE LOST MAKUTA - Whiteboard Artist Series

Welcome back! Today we’re concluding my Bionicle retrospective series with with Part III. This episode it’s all about THE PHANTOKA MAKUTA! More specifically, this episode is about my Makuta prototype figure that never made it to the shelf. This was one of there very first prototype Makuta figures I created for the BIONICLE PHANTOKA line during the late fall of 2006. Follow along as I create several paintings in honor of my unrealized Phantom Makuta character all the while sharing stories and insights into my creative process on the BIONICLE team. Also, lots of never before seen behind-the-scenes artwork. This one is dedicated to all the die hard BIONICLE fans! As always, thanks for watching! A free-flow, auto-drawing illustration exercise I like to use wherein I don’t rely on underlays or pre-planned compositions. I draw as the image comes to me with a focus on capturing the frenetic and fast energy of the thought. Don’t overthink. Don’t over-refine. Just go. ~ Thank you, for your incredible contributions: Intro theme: Phantom Antenna Original episode music/composition: Phantom Antenna ~ Website: My Instagram: Burton’s Instagram:
