Inside Barrie Benson’s Charlotte Home

Step inside the colorful and art-filled world of Barrie Benson! The Charlotte, North Carolina based interior designer is known for her tasteful and timeless knack for mixing and matching - her home is no exception! Nestled back on the property, the modern home nods to true 1950’s architecture and pays homage to the likes of architect Richard Neutra and Eichler inspired details. Through the double doors to the foyer, the home’s moody exterior makes its way inside. Upon your first steps in, you’re greeted with Benson’s vast art collection and her very own wallcovering she created in collaboration with creative partner Chandra Johnson (the two make up Peg Norris) with artist Anne Lemanski for Schumacher. Benson and her architect husband decided to open the foyer by knocking out a formerly large coat closet and creating a small niche to bring a bit of airiness to the Japanese modern space.
