Darpan Presents Guru Vandana Written by Mahapurush Sri Sri Madhavdev Mahapurush Madhavdev (1489-1596) is an important preceptor of the Eksarana Dharma known for his loyalty to his Guru Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardev(1449-1568), a great social reformer and Vaishnava Saint of Assam. Madhavdev was the most prominent Disciple of his Guru who played the role to spread his Guru’s messages to the people. In about 1568-1596, Sri Madhavdeva wrote Namghosha, a Vaishnavite scripture of verses in praise of Lord Krishna which shows his devotion for supreme Deity and Guru. With brilliant artistic capability, Sri Sri Madhavdev beautifully described about his Guru with great love in Guru Bhatimas and pay homage to the preceptor which remains in a symbol of Guru-Bhakti at the heart of his followers.
