JOHN RAMBO (1982 - 1988) Ultimate Trailer

In Europe, you might find that the action-packed adventures of John J. Rambo are more popular than that of Rocky Balboa’s… Why? I dunno, but it kind of makes sense in an abstract, macho way. He’s iconic, and we can thank Sylvester Stallone for bringing both of these pop-culture icons to life. I’ve always viewed this series as a trilogy. I’m not a fan of the fourth of fifth film at all, though some subscribers asked me to include them in this video. They just seem to lack a certain finesse which made these first three so quintessentially RAMBO. They were ultra-violent too, not that it’s a detractor at all, but there was no story to validate it. The ending of the hugely under-appreciated Part III also suggests Rocky returned to the States, so why do we find him in Cambodia twenty years later? Ah, enough of my quarrel with the recent sequels. I’ll let the vintage direction of Ted Kotcheff, George P. Cosmatos and Peter MacDonald — with the soaring soundtracks of Jerry Goldsmith (and a cheeky dash of Zimmer) take it away for ya… “Murdoch… I’m coming to get YOU”. Rambo was among the very first cinematic badasses I encountered in my childhood. COPYRIGHT 2022 © Studio Canal.
