the importance of having a personal project(art block’s kryptonite)

hey guys! recently, like many other artists, ive been feeling down about my art, and having a bit of art block. No one likes being stuck in an art funk, and I think ive figured out a method to not have to deal with art block anymore. It’s not anything to do with your sketching, drawing, or painting. It’s you not having a personal project to propel you forward with your progression. I know people love having the freedom to work on anything, anytime. But the problem is that it can be a little too aimless. once you get to the sketching phase for your drawing, you should hope to have some planning done, and hopefully you already know what you’re going to draw before you even put pen to paper.
