Joe Biden going back to the ’totally ineffective’ Obama playbook on Iran

US President Joe Biden seems to be going back to the totally ineffective “Obama playbook“ regarding his foreign policy agenda with Iran, says The Australian’s Foreign Editor Greg Sheridan. “I think the signals out of the Biden camp in Iran are pretty worrying,“ Mr Sheridan told Sky News. “Iran is very dangerous, not only in the Middle East but there’s an emerging axis between Iran and China and Russia, which is profoundly concerning for the western world. “Iran is continuing to enact really violent actions against American positions in Iraq and it’s continuing to empower and instruct Hezbollah into violence. “The whole Biden administration won’t say boo about this.“ Mr Sheridan said, like former US president Barack Obama, the signals look as Mr Biden is pursuing a deal almost at any cost“ which is a “recipe for failure in Iran policy“.
