What does it take to create a fashion show from scratch? On the eve of the CFDA awards, we spent 24 hours with the founders of New York label Public School to find out. MR PORTER takes you behind the scenes of Public School’s preparation for their show before attending the CFDA Awards – «the Oscars of American fashion» – at which they were nominated for menswear designers of the year, having won the same award in 2014. Mr Maxwell Osborne and Mr Dao-Yi Chow are the embodiment of their brand: inspired by hip hop, basketball and the city they call home, they are often found in Manhattan’s Joe’s Pizza, getting a slice of inspiration with their margarita.
